an introduction

I figured it was about time that I introduced myself and this blog to all of you, you know, so we can form a connection, an internet bond of sorts.

I go by ktea when I'm being cool, I like cats and art and nature. I draw, write, photograph, read and create. I am an appreciator of fashionable people, since I can't seem to manage it on my own. I love the smell of cool, damp earth in the spring time and the sound of trains. I'm schooling for getting a job in the video game field, ideally working for Nintendo or Square-Enix. I am in the midst of learning Japanese, and can already speak at an intermediate level. And (as if I could get any better, right?) I am an extreme procrastinator. I find that most of my genius comes forth at about 3 am the morning of due dates for assignments and projects. I waste my time on things like poupeegirl and formspring. I love my friends like my family and my family like my friends, and in the end I'm better off for it.

I brought about this blog so that I could share my oncoming adventure in Japan this summer with the masses (family, friends, the like), but given recent events (tsunami, earthquake, radiation) I figured I should expand my blogging horizons and maybe post some of the things I enjoy. Possibly pictures and links of/to things like art and fashion, or interesting news articles and fun internet videos. Oh and cute things. I really like cute things, too. Not just the kind where you sigh and utter an 'awww' under your breath, but the kind of cute that immobilizes you. The kind of cute that you can't look away from.

Now as far as this blog goes, I won't be vague with you. I'm not nearly hipster enough for that. I'm willing to be honest and excitable over little things and prone to worry about everything (but I'll try not to let that spill over onto this, I promise), but most of all, I'll tell it how it is--how I see it anyway--and hopefully have fun sharing my interests and my adventures with you, provided you're willing to read about them. I'll do my best to update consistently once I am in Japan, but until then keep an eye out for random posts!

the beginning

I'm bound to keep this barren until I have managed familiarizing myself with the world and jargon of blogs.

Bare with me, and we'll see how this goes.
